About Dr. William J. Jawien
Dr. William J. Jawien is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine. His experience also includes extensive stem cell research and platelet research.
Before joining cCARE, Dr. Jawien was a U.S. Navy physician for the Department of Internal Medicine in Lemoore, CA, and the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA.
Dr. Jawien received his B.A. at University of Illinois and earned his medical degree from Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University. He completed an internal medicine residency at the Naval Hospital in Oakland and a hematology-oncology fellowship at the National Naval Medical Center.
In addition to being the medical lab director at cCARE, Dr. Jawien is also an assistant professor of medicine at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He also belongs to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Medical Oncology Association of Southern California (MOASC) and California Medical Associated (CMA), and is featured in numerous medical publications.
Dr. Jawien takes pride in working closely with patients and their families in order to address important issues and achieve their goals. He loves that his job allows him to have such an impact on patients and the world in general.
When Dr. Jawien is not caring for his patients and students, he enjoys spending time with his wife and raising his children. When times allows, Dr. Jawien also loves to exercise, read, work in the garden and spend time outdoors.
