About Dr. Subramanyeswara R. Arekapudi
Dr. Subramanyeswara R. Arekapudi is triple board certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine. He completed medical school at Kakatiya Medical College in India. He earned a Master of Public Health from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor prior to performing an internal medicine residency at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. He completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Providence Hospital/Michigan State University.
Before joining cCARE, Dr. Arekapudi was staff physician and division chief of hematology/oncology at the Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System for four years. During his tenure at VACCHCS, he also served as an assistant professor of medicine. As an associate program director of hematology/oncology fellowship at University of California San Francisco at Fresno he also mentored several fellows and internal medicine residents.
Dr. Arekapudi has great interest in clinical and translational research. He notes that with rapidly evolving science and technology, numerous cancer therapies are emerging, shifting the entire paradigm of cancer treatment and its outcome.
In his free time Dr. Arekapudi enjoys bike riding, traveling and hiking with his wife and two children. He believes in a strong body/strong mind philosophy, and is a member of Community CrossFit team.
Throughout Dr. Subramanyeswara R. Arekapudi’s career he served as a principal investigator for several cancer clinical trials in drug development. He believes in and is committed to bringing cancer drugs from the research bench to the clinic for his cancer patients. Currently he is leading the research department at cCARE as a director for cancer clinical trials, bringing several Phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials to central California cancer patients looking for novel treatment options.
