About Dr. Philip Marjon
Dr. Philip Marjon was educated at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Marjon, earned a B.S. in Biochemistry, Magna Cum Laude, followed by an M.S. in Biomedical Sciences with Distinction, and culminating in an M.D. from the University’s School of Medicine. His postgraduate journey saw him refining his skills through an Internal Medicine Residency at Lankenau Medical Center, PA, and a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at Boston University affiliate – Roger Williams Medical Center, RI. Prior to moving to California, Dr. Marjon practiced in Massachusetts. He is ABIM Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Oncology and Hematology and holds an active medical license in California.
Personal experiences and education influenced Dr. Marjon’s desire to help patients with cancer. Philip has maintained a strong belief that cancer research will revolutionize cancer care for patients. Participating in research related to tumor signaling, growth and immunotherapy, he has contributed to publications including Molecular Cancer, Leukemia and Cancer Research. His work has been recognized at national scientific meetings, including AACR, FASEB and NIH NIGMS National IDeA Symposium in Washing DC.
Making honest assessments for patients while maintaining hope and focus on goals of care essential components of every patient visit for Dr. Marjon. If standards of care are limited or exhausted, Dr. Marjon will be happy to discuss applicability to clinical trials.
Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Philip Marjon lives in San Diego with his family and enjoys outdoor exercise and playing violin with his three children.
