Dr. Dawn Johnson graduated from the Iowa Carver College of Medicine in 1992. She completed her surgery residency in 1998 at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Johnson has specialized in breast cancer surgery and care while working in Minneapolis, Minnesota since 1998. She has been named a Top Doctor by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine from 2009-2023. Dr. Johnson has been the Medical Director for the Virginia Piper Breast Center, which is a Nationally Accredited Program for Breast Centers, starting in 2013. This breast center provided patients access to all specialists in a comprehensive cancer care program and this model of care continues with her move to cCare in 2023.

Not only does she specialize in breast cancer care and surgery but also in high risk breast cancer screening. She is present to educate patients regarding treatment options but also to listen and empower the patient to make the surgical treatment decision that matches their goals. Dr. Johnson is dedicated to the surgical treatment, comprehensive aftercare, and ongoing surveillance of the breast cancer patient.
