About Dr. Sachin Gupta

Dr. Gupta attended the Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai, India, where he obtained an M.B., B.S. (M.D. equivalent) in 2000. Dr. Gupta received clinical training at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai. He has been involved in multiple clinical projects and teaching in medical oncology as an assistant professor at UCSF Fresno and a hematology/oncology clinical instructor for internal medicine residents and students at Wayne State University.

Dr. Gupta’s path toward oncology was greatly influenced by one of his medical school professors who was an oncologist. Studying under this professor allowed him to see firsthand how compassion could help in healing patients and alleviating suffering. It was then that Dr. Gupta decided that he, too, wanted to make a difference in the life of people stricken by cancer.

He was intrigued by the complexity and challenging aspect of cancer that affects not only the patient but the whole family. He wanted to join in the fight against it. Today he strives to make a difference in the lives of his patients.

Taking great effort to keep up-to-date with the most current, innovative diagnostic and therapeutic options, Dr. Gupta utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to give his patients cutting-edge oncological care. He’s committed to delivering care that’s as good as patients would receive in any academic institution but in a community practice that is closer to their home.

He strives to provide comprehensive information to patients and their families in the most understandable way, allowing them to make therapeutic decisions. He takes the time to listen to his patients and ensure that all their questions and concerns are answered to their full satisfaction. His foremost goal is to optimize the quality of life for patients and their loved ones, helping them cope with the challenges brought on by cancer.

Open communication, mutual respect and patient autonomy are all deeply-held values for Dr. Gupta. He builds a good rapport with all of his patients so they always have someone to turn to in difficult times. He makes sure his patients understand their treatment at each step in the journey by discussing the plan very frequently with them.

He also values and respects his patients’ religious, cultural and personal beliefs and incorporates them to help guide their treatment for best possible outcomes.

In his free time, Dr. Gupta enjoys traveling with his wife and two sons. He also enjoys swimming and playing cricket, tennis and soccer (he played on the college soccer team).
