I like meeting patients and their families and being a part of that healing process. I enjoy being part of their lives and participating in shared decision making.

About Dr. Dexter T. Estrada
Dr. Dexter T. Estrada is triple board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Prior to joining cCARE in 2011, he served for three years as the chief of hematology and medical oncology at the VA Central California Health Care System and as a clinical professor at the Fresno Medical Education Program at the University of California, San Francisco.
He earned his medical degree from the University of the Philippines in Manila. He went on to complete his residency training in internal medicine, as well as his fellowship training in hematology and medical oncology at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
Dr. Estrada chose to specialize in these fields because he wanted to help fight cancer and give people hope that it is possible to cure, slow down and get comfort from the disease. He is proud of cCARE’s focus on quickly getting new patients scheduled to see doctors and begin treatment.
He approaches care for patients as a shared process and always presents an honest and realistic evaluation, as well as all available treatment options. Together he and the patient decide on a plan of care that is not only effective and state-of-the-art but, more importantly, patient-centered. Dr. Estrada generates a good rapport with patients and their families, being available to communicate with them without obstacles getting in the way.
During his free time, Dr. Estrada enjoys traveling locally and internationally, maintaining a tropical freshwater aquarium and coaching an elementary school robotics team. He also dabbles in the world of home automation, and has a passion for fast electric cars.
