About Dr. Alberto Bessudo

Dr. Bessudo trained in oncology and hematology at the University of California San Diego. After graduation in 1995, he was appointed to the faculty at UCSD Cancer Center as an assistant professor, where he was active in clinical and molecular immunology research. Dr. Bessudo specializes in solid tumors, including lung cancer and gastrointestinal cancers. He has a research interest in lymphoma and myeloma.

Dr. Alberto Bessudo graduated with honors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, School of Medicine in 1989. As part of his graduate training, he attended the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine from 1987 to 1989. He completed his internship at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, and internal medicine residency at Washington University, Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1992.

Dr. Bessudo was trained in oncology and hematology at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. After graduation in 1995, he was appointed to the faculty at UCSD Cancer Center as an assistant professor, where he was active in teaching and clinical and molecular immunology research.

Dr. Bessudo specializes in solid tumors with an emphasis in lung and colon cancers. He is proud of the clinical trial program at cCARE and is passionate about research and development of new targeted therapies in cancer treatment. Associated to his past in molecular immunology research, Dr. Bessudo is active in lymphoma and myeloma clinical research. He is the director of the clinical research program at cCARE in San Diego, and is the Director of the Oncology Care line at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

Dr. Bessudo speaks three languages: Spanish, English and Hebrew. In his spare time he enjoys skiing and surfing with his family.
